Can confirm: a baby goat falling over a cooler is both funny and adorable
Baby animals tend to be adorable. Watching them fall over stuff is pretty entertaining as well. Disney devoted a not-unsubstantial amount of time to a baby deer falling on ice. Similar situation here, I would imagine. Was there ice in the cooler?
I actually have no idea what was in the cooler. It wasn't relevant at the time.
What's important is that I had occasion to be on something of a farm not long ago. It was a nice day, and...well...there were reasons to be on or near a farm. Upon arriving at the farm, one very important thing became entirely clear. This articular farm had baby goats! Here's one of them:
The baby goat, we were told, were only a few weeks old, so they were adorably tiny, as you can plainly see.
What you may not be able to ascertain from the picture is that they were also adorably clumsy. Having just recently figured out feet, the goats were able to walk and scamper around, but were not at entirely full capacity in the movement department. One of them decided to jump over a small cooler that was on the ground for reasons that only a baby goat would understand.
The baby goat failed at this rather miserably.
See, baby goat hooves don't get a lot of traction on cooler plastic, so the goat was never quite able to find purchase on top of the cooler, so his (or her, I really don't know) feet went all out from under him and he ended up sliding off the end of the cooler to faceplant on the ground.
Fortunately for everyone, the baby goat was none the worse for the wear, and he got right back to his feet and scampered off to do other baby goat things. Also fortunately for me, I got to watch the whole thing and get a little laugh out of the poor baby goat whose pride was the only thing hurt before he got scooped up and put in his little baby goat pen. That's where I got the picture, but he wasn't signing autographs because...you know...he's a goat.

Take That, Walls!
If I’m in a dangerous situation that requires solving
puzzles to escape, I have a 67% chance.
That’s not bad
Seems like a reasonably rare set of circumstances though, don't you think?
Admittedly so, but in the event that it comes up, I'm golden two times out of three. Woohoo!
So, if you're not aware, the concept of Escape Rooms have become quite popular in the last 10 years. The idea is you get locked in a room with a back story, and a range of puzzles to solve within a set time limit. If you solve the puzzles, you unlock the door to escape and you feel joy. If you don't solve the puzzles, the room operator comes and lets you out, and you feel shame. In a way, it's akin to being in a voluntary prison where no matter what, you get to leave in an hour.
It's fun!
So anyway, not long ago, a group of friends and I decided to take on this challenge in a not so overly nearby location which features a small handful of these rooms. We picked one that seemed to have an interesting story about kidnapped people and a psycho coming home in an hour. As it turns out, that room has historically been the most difficult one to solve in that particular location, and we did not manage to escape. That having been said, our lack of escaping was not due to not being able to solve the puzzles, it was due to abundant sheer stupidity.
Jeremy forgot how to tell time.
It was something of that nature, yes...but that's hardly important.
So, with that miserable failure stuck in our respective craws, the same group made plans to return to that location and do battle with the remaining two rooms. You know...for vindication and stuff. Sweet revenge was ours, as we escaped both rooms with plenty of time to spare. Because we're brilliant and stuff. There was even another clock involved, so...learning!
Therefore, based on science and data, I feel comfortable knowing that if I'm ever stuck in a crazy life-threatening situation where the only means of escape is sticking magnets to a wall or reading Morse Code off of a space suit or finding the false bottom of a desk drawer, I'm all set. Most of the time, anyway.

Just Like The Time The Commisar Was In Town
There just aren’t enough days where I have “The Safety Dance”
stuck in my head
Did you not wear a hat today?
I roughly never wear a hat to work, so indeed, today I am hatless.
I refer, of course, to the group "Men Without Hats" who recorded "The Safety Dance." Ironically, they sometimes wear hats when performing on stage.
Now that just makes no sense.
Neither does having "The Safety Dance" stuck in your head, but I assume that's beside the point entirely.
Of course. What is important to note today is that this morning started off well, with "The Safety Dance" running through my head. Naturally, it had nothing to do with hearing the song. There was a line in my current audio book about "leaving his friends behind" or something like that. Where else could that possibly lead?
The sad part is that now I have to rewind that section of the audio book, because I don't know what happened after that line. I was too busy singing.
Anyway, since "The Safety Dance" was written as a protest against club bouncers not allowing a dance called "Pogoing," I thought it only appropriate to let everyone watch This Video of pogo stick accidents. Caution, there are some language issues in the video, as you might expect from a fail compilation like this. Enjoy!

Still More Corny Jokes From Jeremy
A magician was driving down a road, then he turned into a
driveway
Terrific. Do one liner jokes ever get old?
I certainly hope not...because then I'll run out of material to use on days where I can't think of anything funny.
We call those "Weekdays."
Actually, truth be told, I came up with a whimsical theme for a Sametime Status this morning, but it had a couple of flaws. First, I wasn't familiar enough with the subject matter to really figure out how to tie the items together, and second...I couldn't figure out how to make a joke out of it. The thought I had was a crossover between the recently popular "Fifty Shades" series of books and the slightly less recently but just as popular "Millennium" series of books ("The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" and all that). Full disclosure, I've read the entire Millennium series, but haven't read any of the Fifty Shades...though I know people who have. The idea I had was to somehow get Lisbeth Salander into a fan-fic sort of relationship with Christian Gray...but I ultimately realized that I had no idea how that would play out, so the whole concept sort of fizzled. I'm a little disappointed, to be honest.
