SO TINY!!!!

Can confirm: a baby goat falling over a cooler is both funny and adorable

Baby animals tend to be adorable.  Watching them fall over stuff is pretty entertaining as well.  Disney devoted a not-unsubstantial amount of time to a baby deer falling on ice.  Similar situation here, I would imagine.  Was there ice in the cooler?

I actually have no idea what was in the cooler.  It wasn't relevant at the time.

What's important is that I had occasion to be on something of a farm not long ago.  It was a nice day, and...well...there were reasons to be on or near a farm.  Upon arriving at the farm, one very important thing became entirely clear.  This articular farm had baby goats!  Here's one of them:

The baby goat, we were told, were only a few weeks old, so they were adorably tiny, as you can plainly see.

What you may not be able to ascertain from the picture is that they were also adorably clumsy.  Having just recently figured out feet, the goats were able to walk and scamper around, but were not at entirely full capacity in the movement department.  One of them decided to jump over a small cooler that was on the ground for reasons that only a baby goat would understand.

The baby goat failed at this rather miserably.

See, baby goat hooves don't get a lot of traction on cooler plastic, so the goat was never quite able to find purchase on top of the cooler, so his (or her, I really don't know) feet went all out from under him and he ended up sliding off the end of the cooler to faceplant on the ground.

Fortunately for everyone, the baby goat was none the worse for the wear, and he got right back to his feet and scampered off to do other baby goat things.  Also fortunately for me, I got to watch the whole thing and get a little laugh out of the poor baby goat whose pride was the only thing hurt before he got scooped up and put in his little baby goat pen.  That's where I got the picture, but he wasn't signing autographs because...you know...he's a goat.

The Triumphant Return?

Yesterday was a lovely day for open windows and skunks

And today is a lovely day for the return of Jeremy.  It's been a while!

So, today, I return from a pretty long, unexpected hiatus.  There have been some issues keeping me away, and overall, the world hasn't been very funny lately, so that's put a crimp on my Blagging ability.  All of that ends today!

At least for a couple weeks until work sends you down to Texas for a while.

None of that's been decided.

What has been decided is that it's officially spring!  I guess that's decided chronologically more than anything else, but the weather is finally improving to the point where it may actually start to feel like spring.  It was a downright tropical 59 degrees (15deg C) yesterday, which made for prime opportunity to open the windows for the first time since early fall and allow some fresh air into the house.

It was lovely.

You know who else thought the weather was lovely yesterday?

The skunk outside my house.

So, all of the areas of my house that had open windows and mild, breezy conditions got invaded by the pungent and unmistakable odor of skunk, thereby completely destroying the very purpose of opening the windows in the first place.

Spring sucks.

Everyone At Work Is Talking About The Game

It’s Password Day!  My email password is no longer PuppyB0w!

You know, Jeremy, this was awfully good timing for you to have this as your email password and have it expire the day after the actual Puppy Bowl.  Remarkable foresight, I'd say.

Or pure luck, one or the other.

So, in case anyone is unawares, yesterday was the day of the most highly anticipated sporting event in America....Puppy Bowl!  It's an annual tradition that corresponds to some football game wherein a bunch of puppies are let into a playpen and allowed to frolic for a while on national television.  It's adorable.

Also included is the halftime show featuring kittens who are let into a playpen and allowed to frolic for a while on national television.  This year's halftime show also included penguins and internet sensation, Keyboard Cat.  It really was quite the spectacle.

So, right around the time of the last Password Day, I looked at the calendar to see when the next Password Day was going to be (you know...the day all of my work system passwords expire, and I spend half the morning going through different systems and emails resetting a dozen different passwords and hoping beyond all hope that the new password I've chosen follows all of the different sets of rules for all of them...no such luck).  I immediately noticed that it was going to be today, the very day following Puppy Bowl.  My course of action became clear.

I spent the last however many days are in between Password Days in anxious anticipation of Puppy Bowl, since I reminded myself each time I had to log into something.  It really was quite exciting, and now that Puppy Bowl has come and gone, I must move on to my next password.

At this time is when we remind our readers that neither this, nor any of the passwords featured in "Password Day" posts were ever used as Jeremy's email password.  Don't bother trying them.  You won't succeed, you'll look foolish while doing it, and the only thing you stand to gain is a bunch of boring technical worky gibberish anyway.  It's just not worth it.

No Idea Why I Thought Of This

A world without Nicolas Cage, or a world without Stinkbugs?

This is a strangely tough decision.  Where would the world be without "The Wicker Man?"

So here we have a toss-up between two of the worst things in the history of everything.  I'm trying to determine which of these hypothetical worlds would be a bigger improvement over our own.  A world in which Nicolas Cage never existed, and thus never brought us crap like "Season of the Witch," or a world in which those obnoxious stink bugs never happened.

In case you're not aware, the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug is a member of the Pentatomidae family of insects native to Asia which was introduced to North America accidentally in the late 1990s.  Since there are no known natural predators for these stupid insects, and the North American climate is pretty ideally suited to them, their population has exploded in the ensuing generations, with a seemingly disproportionate amount of them living in the Greater Jeremy Area.  They are aerodynamically atrocious bugs, resulting in an excessive need for propulsion, with an in-flight sound level of approximately 102 decibels (somewhere between a jackhammer and a gas-powered lawnmower) when they fly around your bedroom at 3:00 in the morning.

Nicolas Cage is...well...Nicolas Cage Is This.
