Alas, Theme Weeks go by so quickly. Today marks the final entry in our quiz celebrating both the Pokemon universe and the weird and wonderful creatures in the world of Dr. Seuss.
It's always sad to see Theme Week come to an end, like all good things. But, we will move on next week to all new Statuses.
In the meantime, we can review yesterday's character Joat.
Joat is an animal in Dr. Seuss's book "If I Ran The Zoo." The Joat is a strange hybrid creature, with the hooves of a cow, the coat of a squirrel, and the voice of a goat, yet exhibit dog-like behavior, especially when sitting. They also apparently have long necks and horns. They also apparently like to use their goat voices to sing, but the timbre becomes rather unappealing in their upper registers.
So finally, we'll leave you with "Poliwhirl." Is Poliwhirl another Dr. Seuss creation, or a first-generation Pokemon? We'll post the answer on monday!

Dr. Seuss or Pokemon Week! Day 4: Joat
Here we go...headlong into Day 4 of Theme Week! All this week, we're asking you to identify the subject as a Dr. Seuss Character, or a first-generation Pokemon. Exciting stuff.
Right you are. Yesterday, we introduced you to Tentacool.
Tentacool, of course, is a water-based Pokemon first introduced in 1997. It looks a lot like a blue translucent jellyfish with red crystals adorning it's head. The Tentacool uses sunlight as its primary weapon, storing and refracting it using the water in its body in order to generate an energy beam. It also has the ability to mentally control other Pokemon by touching them with its two tentacles.
As Theme Week moves right along, we examine Joat. Is Joat a fellow Pokemon, or one of the mythical creatures from the pages of Dr. Seuss's books?

That's right! Theme Week keeps chugging right along, as yesterday we asked about Biffer-Baum.
Biffer-Baum, of course, are birds from "Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book" who toil endless nights trying to make a bed out of bricks and rope. We never do find out if they ever finish it without making a colossal mess.
Today, we look at Tentacool. Is Tentacool a figment of Dr. Seuss's imagination, or a figment of Pokemon Ltd's imagination?

Day 2: Biffer-Baum
We continue with Theme Week today, as we explore the fictional universes of Dr. Seuss and the Pokemon. It's up to you!
Yesterday, we introduced this latest Theme Week with a simple question. Is the character presented one of the hundreds of Pokemon, or one of the seemingly endless colorful characters in a Dr. Seuss book?
The first day of Theme Week kicked off with "Kweet."
It sounds like a Pokemon, but is clearly from the world of Dr. Seuss!
Right you are. The Kweet is a large bird first introduced in the 1953 book "Scrambled Eggs Super!" It is portrayed as a bird from which the eggs come from. The eggs are improved by the fact that bugs eat the blossoms from Basalnut trees. The bugs are then eaten by the wogs, which are eaten by the trout, which are ultimately consumed by the Kweet. The resulting chain results in high quality, sweet eggs.

Day 1: Kweet
It's Theme Week once again here at Jeremy Is In The Office, and we're celebrating by quizzing you, our loyal readers in your knowledge of two very specific groups of fictional characters.
That's right! Each day this week, we will offer up a figment of somebody's imagination and leave it to you to decide if that character is the work of one Theodor Seuss Geisel, or any of the many corporate automatons responsible for inventing the 802 known Pokemon.
Yes, this whole thing was thought up not long ago when I got slightly mixed up between The Lorax and the Snorlax in a conversation I remember almost nothing about. It made me wonder just how close some of the Pokemon names are to some of the crazy mythical creatures thought up by Dr. Seuss.
Here are some fun examples!
Dr. Seuss brought us the Zizzer-Zazzer-Zuzz, The Sneetches and Zanzibar Buck Buck McFate.
Some Pokemon are the Butterfree (Which I always get confused with Fluttershy the Pony...don't ask me why), Magikarp, Pikachu, and of course, Jigglypuff.
While all pretty fun examples of the literary genius of each, they're also pretty easy to distinguish. The test ones used for this week's Theme Week may not be so easy. We'll see. I've actually already forgotten today's, but that's beside the point...I have the answer key. Anyway, to make things a little easier, we're sticking to First Generation Pokemon, of which there are only 151. Of course, that 151 apparently doesn't include evolutions, but I don't know if that means they evolved during first generation, or if they evolved once the second generation started...I don't know or care that much about Pokemon. That also means the 802 number I quoted above is probably wrong, because the chart I'm looking at gives the same NDex number for two different evolutions of the same Pokemon and I seriously don't give a crap anymore. I'll show you the link to the thing at the end of the week, since I don't want anybody cheating, but trust me, there are many many webpages devoted to this stuff. It's a little scary.
Regardless, today we'll be focusing on Kweet. Is Kweet a Pokemon, or a character from a Dr. Seuss book? You decide!

Jeremy's Sametime Status Proudly Presents: 2014 Olympic Curling Athlete True or False Week!
Day X: James Van Riemsdyk
Alas, all good things must come to an end. Today is the final day of Olympic Theme Week. One last chance to show your mettle while the greatest athletes in the world try for medals.
That's right. Today's topic is James Van Riemsdyk. All you have to do is tell us whether James is a 2014 Olympic Curling Competitor or not. Easy!
Yesterday, we talked about Thomas Ulsrud. Thomas is not only a 2014 Olympic Curler, but arguably one of the most recognizable people in international curling today. Not so much for his curling prowess (He is the Skip for a Norwegian team that barely lost a tiebreaker for the Olympic Semifinals), but for his keep eye for fashion.
Ulsrud is, in fact, the leader of the team most noted for wearing Amazing Pants during their bonspiels. Unfortunately, the Pants weren't enough, as Team Great Britain took two points in the final end to secure a 6-5 come-from-behind victory over Norway this past Tuesday to move on to the Semis. Great Britain would later go on to win Silver in men's curling.

Yesterday, we brought you Nikolay Basov. While Nikolay did not win a gold medal in 2014, he won something just as prestigious. He won a little thing called the Nobel Prize. Nikolay was a Russian Physicist whose fundamental work in quantum oscillation was integral in development of the Laser. Today, lasers are used everywhere, including many Olympic sports. Unfortunately for Basov, he was not around to see their use in the 2014 games.

Oddly similar to yesterday's. Wonder if there's any connection. If you know Jeremy, chances are really good that this one is in here for a reason. All you have to do is guess what that reason is!
So, Theme Week continues here today was Maria Wennerstroem. Is Maria a 2014 Olympic Curler or not? Let us know!
Yesterday's quiz was all about Hans-Erik Wennerström. Almost the same last name, but do they have the same background? Mans-Erik Wennerström was unfortunately NOT an Olympic Curling athlete. He is one of the main antagonists in the first of the Millenium trilogy of novels by Steig Larsson, "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo." His vilification of protagonist Mikael Blomkvist is what prompts Blomkvist to go off on his adventures with Lisbeth Salander in the first place, setting the first story in motion. Wennerström is later proven to be a total jerk and some repercussions happen. No spoilers, even though there have already been two movies about this, so you really should have seen one of them by now.
So...Hans-Erik Wennerström...total jerk and not an Olympic curler. Maria Wennerstroem...distant relative and also a total jerk, or wholesome Olympic Curling athlete? Decide now!

Every couple of years, something so important comes along that it can not be contained with a simple Theme Week. When that happens, we here at Jeremy Is In The Office have little choice but to expand things into a Theme Fortnight! We continue Olympic Theme Week today with a whole new week of 2014 Olympic Curling Athlete True or False. Have fun!
So today's contestant is Hans-Erik Wennerström. Your job is simple. All you have to do is tell us whether Hans-Erik is a 2014 Olympic Curling medal hopeful or not. Couldn't be easier.
As for last Friday, we introduced you to Jeanne Ellegaard. Well, hopefully you said Jeanne was a 2014 Olympic Curler, because she is the Second for Team Denmark. The Danes wrapped up round robin play with a 4-5 record, just shy of contention for the Medal round.
Unfortunately for Ms. Ellegaard, her Olympics are over, but fortunately for you, Theme Week continues on. Let's hear it for Hans-Erik Wennerström!

Couldn't agree more, and that's one of the reasons Ms. Ellegaard was chosen to represent Theme Week today. Only question is...2014 Olympic Curling Contestant, or not? Let us know!
Yesterday, we were introduced to Bjorn Ulvaeus, though many of us have known him for quite some time. Unfortunately, not for curling.
Bjorn, along with Benny Andersson make up the two B's in ABBA, with Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad providing the A's. The Stockholm-based Euro-pop group is one of the most popular musical groups in musical history, with their studiocompilation album "Gold" selling over 28 million copies by itself. Ulvaeus and Andersson would also go on to create Broadway musicals "Chess" and "Mama Mia." There is nothing to suggest that Ulvaeus couldn't be an Olympic-class curler, but he will not be competing in the 2014 games.

On a snowy day in the Greater Jeremy Area, we happily continue Olympic Theme Week with Bjorn Ulvaeus. Is Bjorn a medal hopeful, or somebody else? Let us know!
When we left off yesterday, we introduced you to Scott Carl Rechsteiner, a mere day after introducing you to John Landsteiner. Similar names, but similar results?
Well, no. While John was an American curling competitor, Scott Carl Rechsteiner is a professional wrestler, working under the name "Scott Steiner." He's probably most famous for his work in the old WCW as one half of the Steiner Brothers and also by his rather well deserved nickname "Big Poppa Pump".

Jeremy's Sametime Status Proudly Presents: 2014 Olympic Curling Athlete True or False Week!
Day III: Scott Carl Rechsteiner
That's right, folk. Olympic Theme Week continues with another True or False. All you need to do is decide whether or not today's person, Scott Carl Rechsteiner, is a 2014 Olympic Curling contestant or not.
So yesterday, we took a look at John Landsteiner. Maybe your answer yesterday will have an influence on your answer today? Hmm.
Either way, John Landsteiner is in fact the Lead for Team USA Curling 2014! Based out of Duluth, Minnesota, Team USA is currently 1-3 in the standings, after getting off the Schneid with a 9-5 victory over Denmark earlier today. The Danes took an early 3-0 lead, but the US stormed back with points in 4 straight ends (meaning two consecutive steals, which is impressive), and kept Denmark off the scoreboard again until the 9th. Does Team USA have gold in their sights? Are they too busy watching team Norway's pants? We'll all find out as Curling continues.

So yesterday, we successfully kicked off a rousing Olympic Theme Week with a quiz on Olympic curling athletes. Today, we continue with John Landsteiner. Is John a 2014 Olympic curling competitor or not? Let us know!
Most people guessed correctly yesterday that Ekatarina Galkina is a member of the 2014 Russian Federation's curling team. Whether they believed that there was no way I'd start off a Curling Theme Week with a non-curler, or whether they had seen any of the photos of Ms. Galkina Posted To The Internet in advance of the games (for all the wrong reasons, of course), they were correct.
Galkina is the lead for Team Russia, who currently sit at 2-1 after a stunning defeat at the hands of the Chinese team who pulled off a 3-point eighth end earlier today. Will Team Russia get back to their winning ways in their quest for Gold? We'll all find out together as the Olympic Games...and more importantly, Theme Week continues!

Hello, everybody. It's Olympics time again, and what better way to celebrate the winter games than with a Theme Week? This week (and next!), we pay tribute to the great athletes competing for their countries in Sochi, Russia with a special Olympic quiz for fun and the Satisfaction Of Knowing You Did Your Best! The rules are simple. Every day, we'll post a name, and all you have to do (without looking it up), is tell Jeremy whether or not that person is a 2014 Winter Olympics Curling contestant. That's it! The athletes can be from any country competing in the games, and the other people will be whoever those other people are. Have fun and good luck!

Get It Right, Have Somebody Help You, Then Punch Them In The Face
Pop Quiz! How many of the eponymous "Gordie Howe Hat Tricks" did Gordie Howe record in his career?
You just wanted to use the word "Eponymous."
Maybe...but it's also a little bit of trivia I recently learned.
For those who are caught unawares, the "Gordie Howe Hat Trick" is named after hockey legend Gordie Howe, widely regarded as one of the best players ever to put on the foil. He led the league in goals 4 times, assists 3 times, and total points 6 times. When he retired, he was the leading goal, assist, and point scorer in the history of pro hockey, only to be surpassed by Wayne Gretzky years later.
Howe also played with a bit of an edge to his game. He was not afraid to throw down the gloves and amassed a career total of 1685 penalty minutes. While this is a far cry from Tiger Williams' record 3966 career minutes in the Sin Bin, it makes Gretzky's 577 minute total look pretty silly.

It's a somewhat rare treat in today's game of specialization, where the fighters rarely score, and the scorers rarely fight...but there have been 6 of them so far this season. Nobody will get it
Next year, I'm going to Comic-Con dressed in jeans and a plain t-shirt. It'll be hilarious.
Yes, it's true a lot of people dress up as characters for Comic-Con, but I sincerely doubt that there are no people dressed like normal people.

I'm a figment of your imagination. Of course I haven't been to Comic-Con.
So you can't say for sure. I'm going to go with the assumption that everybody at Comic-Con is dressed as their favourite superhero, cartoon character, or Poorly Engineered Planet-Sized Battle Station. I'm not making that up.
In fact, HERE'S A LINK to the first gallery of Comic-Con costumes I found on The Google. It boasts 850 costumes. This is crazy...but, I suppose it's a crazy sort of fun for the people who do it, so okay. So, next year, I'll be going to Comic-Con dressed in jeans and a t-shirt.

Indeed. Of all the submitted answers, precisely zero of them were correct. The last movie starring my boy Nicolas Cage to achieve a Tomatometer greater than 75% was the 2009 epic "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans." (87%)
I've never even heard of that.
That's the beauty of it. Nobody has. The thing has a gross box-office take of a whopping 1.7 million. For a movie that cost around 25M to make, this just won't cut it. Way to go, Nic! Prior to "Bad Lieutenant," you have to go all the way back to 2003 to go above 75% Tomatometer for "Matchstick Men." Yet, he still finds work...

This week, we're getting to know our American Olympians and Foreign World Leaders in fun Theme Week fashion. Today...Jens Stoltenberg. Simply tell us if Jens is a 2010 US Olympian, or a Foreign Head of State.
Yesterday, we introduced you to Leif Nordgren. Leif will be in Vancouver next week, waving the Red, White, and Blue as he represents the US in the Biathlon. For those of you who are unaware, the Biathlon is friggin amazing. You go cross-country skiing with a .22 rifle strapped to your back, then you shoot at targets...then you ski some more. Here's the best part...if you miss a target, you have to do a penalty lap! Here's Leif being interviewed following his Bronze Medal performance at the 2008 Youth/Junior Biathlon World Championships in Ruhpolding Germany:
