Woops! I feel a little Bucky comin' on!
Happy New Year from Jeremy's Sametime Status!
Today's Sametime Status comes to you courtesy of the whimsical comic strip Get Fuzzy, about a lovable anthopomorphic cat and dog, and their owner. At some point in the fairly recent past, Bucky attempted to come up with his own catch phrase which other people would say when he came along. This was the result...and it's apparently caught on.
So any new year's resolutions?
Long ago, I made a new year's resolution to never make new year's resolutions again, and unlike 99.999% of the new year's resolutions everybody makes, I've actually stuck to it. Therefore, you can rest assured that I'll be doing pretty much the same stuff I've been doing for the last little while.
But what if people think the Sametime Statuses have been lame?
Ehh...these things happen.

I will stop it with the Oatmeal of Truth!
Hurry up, or the Bran Muffin of Impatience will lash out!
The "Bran Muffin of Impatience?
Well, yeah. Today's Status comes to you courtesy of Bucky Katt, star of the whimsical comic strip "Get Fuzzy". Specifically, This Past Sunday's edition in which Bucky attacks Satchel's letter tiles while playing Scrabble.
There are numerous things wrong with that comic.
Very true...but it was funny. In a disturbing sort of way.

6 is a Completely Unacceptable Temperature.
"OK, get a pencil, I'm about to solve global warming: Grass-flavored Tums. Done. Put a coat on." - Bucky Katt
What did you say? My ears are frozen.
Today's message comes to you courtesy of Bucky Katt, one of the lovable characters from the whimsical comic strip Get Fuzzy.
This strip from some time ago pits Bucky versus Global Warming when he hears that one of the largest contributors of greenhouse gasses is methane emissions from industrial beef farms. Apparently, this is actually true. So, your homework assignment today is to go home and eat a hamburger. It was 6 degrees (-14.5 C) this morning when I woke up.
Well, you know...
...Yes, I know that's not how global climate change works, but I've got to do something. I can't type this blag entry for the rest of the day, and if I stop, my fingers will freeze to the keyboard.
Would that really be a bad thing?

Words of Wisdom from Bucky
"When you live in an apartment building, even reaching up for the heavens can land you in a toilet." - Bucky Katt
Who is Bucky Katt?
Bucky is the star of the whimsical comic strip Get Fuzzy. He's an egotistical control freak of a Siamese Cat who spends his time conning his roommates out of money, causing general havoc, and trying to eat a monkey. His roommates are Satchel Pooch, a dog of some sort who's a bit lacking in the brains department, but is genuinely good natured, and Rob, their owner who puts up with Bucky's antics better than you might expect. A while ago, Bucky went through a phase where he would speak only in quotable phrases...so I quoted him here.
By the way, there's this online video you just HAVE to see...
Yeah, about that. Somehow, word got around that I might be a bit of a hockey fan. Not sure how these things get started, but there it is. So, when a Youtube/CNN/Yahoo/Google/MSN video of a Zamboni on fire made its way onto the Internet, roughly 1/3 of the earth's population had the same reaction: "I need to send this to Jeremy!"
Yes, it's pretty safe to say I've seen the video of the Zamboni on fire once or twice.
It's not that I don't want people sending me Youtube Links, but enough with the flaming Zamboni!
Actually, what's only slightly interesting about the Zamboni fire is that I've been to that rink. This particular incident occurred at the Ice Works Skating Complex in Aston, PA...home of the Neumann College Knights. Back when RIT played NCAA DIII hockey, we would play against Neumann quite often. However, RIT moved their hockey program up to DI, depriving everyone of their opportunity to say, "Hello Neumann."
